The Rainwater Academy for an Independent Life started off as The Bloo Pixie Studios which was a traditional art studio that made hand stitched props and accessories for theatre and film and that worked behind the scenes to bring a little magic to the life of underprivileged kids. It then morphed to help the parents and give them a chance to breathe and chill out at a time in their life when things were difficult. By creating craft and cooking groups for those who were involved or needed help and assistance from the local food bank it gave safe spaces and friendship for those who needed them.

As life progressed and time passed The Bloo Pixie Studios integrated information and programs written by our founder to help those in poverty and underprivileged situations to be able to learn practical life skills to help them into a situation of thriving rather than just surviving.

Now with the integration of the Rain Water Self Sufficiency Program, the YouTube channel Bloo's Self Reliance and The Back Up Plan preparedness program, The Bloo Pixie Studios has become The Rainwater Academy for an Independent Life or commonly known as T.R.A.I.L. and offers all kinds of practical life skills groups, courses and workshops on a wide range of subjects that used to be taught by our parents and grandparents but have been lost to most in 3 generations with the reliance of locally available, easy to procure, goods, services and the basic necessities of life. These are run in such a way as they are fun, light hearted and easy to understand for everyone.

One way we aim to make all our products accessible you are already using reading this. In all our publications, our website and downloadable and printable content and worksheets and beyond we use the Open Dyslexia Font.

Our founder Pam has first-hand experience with dyslexia as she herself is mildly dyslexic, her partner is severely dyslexic and her step children also, not to mention many of the foster children she has had over the years. Although there are many tools out there that help the individual the one she has found that helps the majority is this one that you are experiencing right now and her one demand is that it is used on all our work to make sure that no one is left behind or feels unable to join in due to the reading element.

This is also why every workshop comes with the multimedia element to it. Whether in person or remote viewing or even in video and distance learning. Each one comes with not only the written part but a audible and visual adaptation to explain in full what is happening and how it is being done. Questions are always encouraged as and when the time is right and we are looking into having braille options as well.

Right now though we just want everyone to be able to gain some practical life skills so they can be more self reliant and not as reliant on stores and shops for everything. Not only will this make life more livable on an everyday level but we can help you go from surviving to thriving by just putting aside an hour a day to practice what you learn in our workshops or other media.

Generational change was thrust upon us and not in a positive way. What we here at T.R.A.I.L. are doing is creating opportunities for people to create their own positive generational change by the encouragement of "each one teach one". Parents putting down the tv remote and spending that time with their kids and passing on the skills.

Although our focus is those in underprivileged and poverty situations and we run groups, courses and workshops for them as funding allows. We here at T.R.A.I.L. fully accept there are many out there in more privileged situations who may want to learn the skills and were never in a position to do so before or just haven't found the right place to teach them and they too are more than welcome.

We are ever evolving, and we invite you to grow and evolve with us here at T.R.A.I.L. where no question is ever a stupid question and where everyone is made to feel at home even if they've not got one. All we ask is you come with an open heart and mind and ready to learn to help you and yours gain a lifestyle of thriving and not just surviving and a rain water budget can feel like you've won the lottery.
